If the exchange rate moves. Today 1 NZD = 0.4981 EUR (rate of 29 September 2026). A 10% move either way changes this first year by about EUR 3,490, and a whole three to four-year degree by roughly EUR 10,460 to EUR 13,940. Plan with a margin, and pay large sums when the rate suits you.

Worth knowing. Tuition figures are University of Auckland 2026 undergraduate fees and living costs are only given as weekly figures, with the NZD 20,000 minimum equal to about NZD 385 a week. Living costs are the funds Immigration New Zealand asks tertiary students to show, NZD 20,000 a year.
