Studying in Vietnam

The rules and the money, before you apply

These apply to every international student in Vietnam, including at Dalat University. Each figure shows where it came from and when we last checked it.

Money you must show

No fixed amount: the school that admits you sponsors your DH visa

Vietnamese law issues study (DH) visas at the request of the inviting institution; no minimum balance is set in the law.

Law 47/2014/QH13 on foreigners' entry and residence, checked 7 Nov 2026

Visa fee

USD 25 single entry; USD 135 multiple entry up to one year; residence card USD 145 (up to 2 years) or USD 155 (2 to 5 years)

Circular 28/2026/TT-BTC, in force from 1 April 2026.

Government of Viet Nam news portal, 1 April 2026, source re-checked 8 Nov 2026

How to apply in Vietnam

The same rules for every institution in Vietnam; Dalat University's own programme pages govern the exact dates and scores. Guide checked 7 Nov 2026.

Deadlines and intakes

Each university sets its own intake dates; many start in the autumn. Apply early enough for the university to request your DH visa approval, which must come before the embassy can issue the visa.

Language you need

Many degree programmes at public universities are taught in Vietnamese, and some universities ask for a Vietnamese language certificate or a preparatory year. English-taught programmes exist mainly at international universities and in joint programmes with foreign universities; confirm the language of your course before you apply.

How we check reviews

Every reviewer confirms their email address with a one-time link, and a person at Studies Multiverse reads each review before it appears. We publish good and bad reviews on the same terms, never edit them, never pay for them, and an institution cannot remove a review by paying us. Reviews sent from the institution’s own email domain are not accepted. Institutions can reply below a review. See our terms.
