How much money a government asks you to show for a student visa, worked out for your course length and family from the published rule, then turned into your own currency. Add your fees and rent to see the whole first year.
Every amount comes from the authority named under the result, with the date we read it. This is not immigration advice, and the authority's own page always wins. Nothing you type is sent to us or stored: the arithmetic runs in your browser.
How this planner works
Each country's rule is written out in the planner exactly as the authority states it, with the amounts that were in force when we read them. The United States and Japan publish no national amount, so the planner explains what they ask for instead of making one up. Currency conversion uses the European Central Bank's reference rates for the day, which are not the rate a bank or transfer service will give you.
The same calculation is available as JSON for software and AI assistants: /api/tools/funds?country=GB&months=9&london=1. See the full rules and what each authority refuses to count in proof of funds by country.
Before you move money
- Check the school is on the official register on the day you pay a deposit: approved on a date.
- Keep the money where the rule says for the whole holding period. Moving it a day early can restart the clock.
- Keep statements that show the account holder's name, the bank, the dates and the balance.
