EU’s flagship scholarship pays €1,400/month, full tuition, and travel across 2-3 countries
Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Degrees (EMJMDs) are the gold standard of European scholarships: two years, two or three countries, one joint degree, and €1,400/month stipend plus all tuition fees waived.

What the €1,400/Month Actually Covers
The monthly stipend is calibrated to be fully sufficient in Eastern Europe and 80% sufficient in Western capitals. Erasmus students living in Krakow report saving €400/month; those in Amsterdam break even. Travel and installation allowance adds €4,000-€7,000 depending on origin country.
The Single Most Important Application Tip
EMJMDs require a single application to the consortium—not separate applications to each university. The consortium ranks all candidates, then the EU’s EACEA agency confirms scholarship awards. Apply to maximum 3 EMJMDs per call; quality crushes quantity here.
