How long does a student visa take?

a UK student visa is usually decided within 3 weeks from outside the UK, a Dutch study permit within about 2 weeks once complete (60 days at most), a New Zealand student visa for university within 4 weeks in 80% of cases, and a German student visa within about 1 to 2 months after the appointment. Canada, Australia and the US publish live figures that change by country or embassy: the table links each one. Apply as soon as you have your offer.

Which student visa is fastest?

Of the official figures we hold, the UK (usually 3 weeks from outside the UK) and the Netherlands (target 2 weeks once complete, through your university) are the quickest. Appointment waits, not the decision itself, are often the longest part.

Can I pay to get a student visa faster?

For the UK, you may be able to pay for a faster decision and are told when you apply. Other governments in this table do not publish a paid fast track for students.
