The Independence Test

The newest tool here is not a calculator. The independence test asks nine questions about a source of study abroad advice and tells you what its funding structure probably is, what that structure predicts about the advice, and what to ask next. Like everything on this site it runs entirely in your browser, transmits nothing, and works with JavaScript switched off. Its companion article is how international student recruitment is financed.

Rebuilt, 5 August 2026. The timeline generator is now the application back planner: it works backwards from the intake you name to a dated plan of what must be true by when, and it says plainly which steps it refuses to date because somebody else controls them. The reasoning behind every lead time it uses is set out in how an application cycle is actually sequenced.
